Pre-wedding tasks

  1. Decided on dates for wedding events (what season do you want to get married in). Depending on your family, you may need to consult with a pandit to get “good dates”.
  2. How may events will you have and over how many days (haldi, mehndi, sangeet)? Consider your budget when choosing the number of events.
  3. Discuss budget (will you and your fiance help, both families what’s the big number?)

Nine to Six Months Out- The booking month

  1. Book your venues for your wedding ceremony, reception, sangeet etc
  2. Book your photographer and videographer
  3. Book your trip overseas to shop (optional)
  4. Book your caterer
  5. Book your panditji
  6. Book your décor/florist
  7. Book your DJ
  8. Book your wedding planner/day of coordinator
  9. Let friends/family that are long distance know your dates
  10. Order your save the dates and invitations
  11. Vendors to research: cake, favors, clothing, henna, hair and makeup
  12. Start beauty regimen

Six-three months out

  1. Talk to your girls and set dates for your bachelorette and Bridal shower
  2. Order clothes for your wedding ceremonies/events
  3. Setup cake tastings and choose your baker
  4. Book henna artist for yourself and guests
  5. Setup hair trials and makeup trials and book artist
  6. Order wedding bands
  7. Book honeymoon (start shopping for some cute outfits)
  8. Collect mailing addresses of guests
  9. Setup templates for escort cards, wedding programs, menu cards,
  10. If you haven’t already, create your wedding weekend timeline, reception timeline
  11. Check passports for honeymoon and discuss honeymoon locations
  12. Reserve rental items: tent, chairs, tables for events at home
  13. Start working on Song lists
  14. Reserve tuxedos
  15. Book Transportation: limo, exotic car, charter buses etc.
  16. Order wedding favors
